Finally got around to finishing this..or at least getting it to a point i’m happy to leave it at. Since the last post i’ve added a background just to give it some meaning rather than old stoney faces floating head in space. Learned a lot from this, and i’m quite happy with dredd’s face. I think i’ll plan layout a bit more next time.
On a separate note; i’ve entered it into a 2000ad artstars competition. We’ll see how we go anyway!
Titled “The Masked Rider” by Matthew Allen. It’s the tale of a low-down bounty hunter on the trail of a masked rider. In hindsight there’s a few things I’d like to change (but isn’t there always?).
Completed using traditional blue pencils and then scanned into Photoshop for inking and colouring. I learned a fair bit from this and think on the whole it worked out pretty well. The second page is my favourite. The three frames mid page were very satisfying.
Turning back to clock a little, I had the oppurtunity of doing some work on a low budget horror feature called “Siren Song”. It involved the creation of an opening sequence for the movie; introducing the characters and a rough outline of the plot. The idea was to incorporate pencil images into the title sequence. It didnt make the final cut but saw some limited use for promotional purposes and concept development.
