Convention Commission of Mollymauk Tealeaf , a dungeons and dragons demon character (had to look this one up myself). Completed in pen and marker.
Here are my entries for the 2000ad spring art stars competition. The theme was strontium dogs (a classic line up of characters from the 2000ad stable. The first is johnny alpha and the second, durham red.
I really enjoyed doing these. I spent quite a bit of time on one ; the second I hammered together at the last minute. In hindsight, I wish i had done more with the dust clouds in the first, and the water vapour in the second. Also, i wish I had tackled one of them in a bit more of an impressionistic way (less exacting deatil and more atmospheric) . It might have been an interesting experiment. They were completed digitally.
On to the next job!
I completed this as a series of character cards for conventions. I Loved doing this one. Robocop is still a favourite movie of mine.
Long awaited part 2 of the “march of robots” challenge. Really loved doing this. It gave me the chance to flex my brain, by playing with the official word list of the challenge. I also got the chance to break out some old art materials I have lying around as well as playing around with the digital process. Well worthwhile!
Check out this shameless self promotion!
First 5 sketches for the 30 day art challenge, #marchof robots. More to come!
Quick Private Commission. These are always fun.
Belated happy new year! Here’s a bit of promo art for conventions and advertising.
In this case it’s for me. I made use of it in Cheltenham true believers comic festival This February. Part of the reason I’ve been MIA for the last month or two.
Change of tack here. A quick pencil portrait I completed recently. Love a bit of portraiture, but sometimes….just sometimes, when you’re not happy with the likeness, it can drive you bananas. Dodged that here luckily!
A change of speed here; 4 pager comic strip one off, completed for the guys at Psychedelic Journal of Wizardry.
Quite enjoyed this one; a story about 2 companions on an epic quest. The second page is probably my favourite ….anything with creatures and action…..
Completed digitally in Clip Studio
